Covington is a city in Kenton County, Kentucky, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 43,370; it is the fifth-most-populous city in Kentucky. It is one of two county seats of Kenton County. Covington is located at the confluence of the Ohio and Licking Rivers. Covington is part of the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky metropolitan area and is separated from Cincinnati by the Ohio River and from Newport by the Licking River. Covington is located within the Upland South region of the United States of America; it is also acknowledged as a Midwestern city.

You live in the state of Kentucky but you are not sure how to obtain a marriage license. Well do not worry that is what I am here for. Below I have outlined the latest laws and regulations for applying and obtaining a marriage license in the state of Kentucky.
You will need to bring a government issued picture identification and bringing your social security card and birth certificate will be helpful.
The couple must appear together when applying for marriage license.
You do not have to reside in the state of Kentucky to obtain a marriage license.
Their are no waiting periods.
You must pay $34.50 with cash, money order, certified check or cashiers check only.
Their are no blood tests required.
If you are 16 or 17 years old, you must have the consent of your parents or legal guardian. Custody papers are required if your parents are divorced.
Their are no proxy marriages.
Their are no cousin marriages. Kentucky will not recognize cousin marriages even if you are already married.
Their are no common law marriages.
Marriages may be performed by any minister of the gospel or priests of any denomination with any religious society. Ministers must be licensed before performing marriages.
The marriage license is valid for thirty days and must be used in the state of Kentucky only.

By Car
Covington is accessible by Interstate 71/75 via Exits 192 (Fifth Street-- Covington/Ludlow) and 190 (Twelfth Street--Newport/Covington). Covington's street grid numbers southbound — away from the river — whereas Cincinnati's grid numbers northbound. That causes confusion for some travelers coming in from the interstate. The first Fifth Street ramp, when traveling northbound (from Kentucky) is Covington. The next one, labeled "Fifth Street Downtown", is Cincinnati's Fifth Street.
