Henderson is a city in Henderson County, Kentucky, United States, along the Ohio River in the western part of the state. It was called "Red Banks" by the native Americans who originally lived and hunted there because of the reddish clay soil on the banks of the river. The population was 27,373 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Evansville, Indiana metropolitan area.
The city has been called home by ornithologist, naturalist, and painter John James Audubon as well as blues legend W.C. Handy. For more than 100 years the city has been home to the Southern Cherokee Nation.

The marriage license fee is $34.50 dollars. Accepted forms of payment are cash, certified check, cashier's check, or money order.

What are the residency requirements for Kentucky?
None. You do not have to be a previous or current resident of Kentucky to obtain a marriage license that is valid statewide.
- Waiting Period
Is there a waiting period from the application date to the date the license is issued?
Yes, there is a mandatory 3 day waiting period. In most states, the waiting period does not include Saturdays, Sundays or holidays. In some instances, the day the application is filed is not included within the waiting period.
